A man can earn $50,000 per year by just jailbraking for his customer!

For most of us, we jailbreak because we want to. We do it to get customized apps, tweaks, or to give our iDevices a complete makeover. Even though the process has become extremely simple, we still feel a sense of accomplishment after our device reboots and that Cydia icon is glowing off of the screen. But for Lee, it differs a lot.

Kevin Lee, a George Mason University senior, claims he makes about $50,000 a year from hacking customers iPhones for them. The Washington Post is reporting that the senior runs an advertisement on Craigslist that describes his different services. Lee will unlock, jailbreak, and even customize your iDevice for various prices depending on what you want.

The entrepreneur started off with just five to ten customers a week, now it’s up to between thirty and forty. He even tells the Post that he’s helped out Mongolian Embassy members who were looking to have their iPhones unlocked for international travel.

The rest of the article gets pretty lengthy, but gives some good information on jailbreaking and is definitely worth the read. After an initial interview, Kevin Lee declined any further comment and his Craigslist ad has since been removed.
Though the Library of Congress deemed jailbreaking legal last year, many people still fear repercussions from Apple. I don’t think they could say anything about charging folks for jailbreaking services, but what about the Dev Team? They’ve publicly lashed out at others trying to sell jailbreak services using their products.

What do you think? Should Apple or the Dev Team have a say in this matter?

Android Relentlessly Marches Through Smartphone Competition!

According to a new report from comScore that was conducted in the three-month period between November 2010 and February 2011, Android has continued to steal shares of the smartphone market from its competitors.
The study shows Android shares jumping from 26% to 33% in that period! Most of that 7% jump came at the expense of RIM's Blackberry, which dropped 4.6%, from 33.5% to 28.9% in US markets.
The ever-growing OS also took some shares from Palm and Microsoft's Windows Phone 7, with the former dropping from 3.9% to 2.8%, a loss of 1.1%, and the latter moving from 9% to 7.7%, a loss of 1.3%. These losses come after Microsoft's release of a Windows Phone 7 in the second half of 2010, and Palm launching a new smartphone on the Verizon network during the three-month period that comScore tested.
Why is Android at the top? The answer is quite obvious (well should be quite obvious). Google is one of the most successful companies in the world, and to get there, you need to know how to create products that people want. Cell phone developers are attracted to Android mainly because it is open-source.
What does that mean?
Well, it means that the company can tweak the OS to suit their needs, while retaining the core features of the platform.
Why is this good?
Developers do not like to be stuck with an OS that is set in stone, such as iOS, which cannot be tweaked from one device to the next. Google allows companies to do what they want to their platform while retaining the core features, including the ability to run all Google apps.

I hear you guys asking, "What about Apple? With Verizon's launch of the iPhone 4, their shares rose too right?" That's what most would think, but according to the results of the study, the iPhone has not lost or gained any shares in the three-month period, increasing only from 25% to 25.2%.
Apple's new iPhone is expected to be announced this summer (as it has since the launch of the original iPhone), but the company really needs to raise the bar if it hopes to compete with Android, or else it will face the same fate as the other platforms.
What do you think? Is the smartphone world soon to be dominated completely by Android? Drop a comment below with your thoughts!

Apple Will Release iOS 4.3.2 in Next Two Weeks!

It has been not so long when Apple last released iOS 4.3.1 . Now we can expect another Update for this iOS which is said to be iOS 4.3.2. According to BGR:
We’ve just been told by one of our Apple ninjas that the company is working on another iOS 4.3.x release: iOS 4.3.2. It’s said to include a few enhancements, address security issues, and it will also fix several bugs that have affected users. We’re told to expect the software update for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad in about two weeks.
We will be seeing another update by Apple in next two weeks. BGR previously also reported about iOS 4.3.1 and they were right abut it. Lets see if the issues like Battery Drainage, WI-FI and some other issues which people are reporting are fixed or not and as far as we can expect, the new Untethered Jailbreak will also be fixed.
As usual when ever it is out no need to Update on it.

iPad 2: 2.6 million sold already!

Apple took delivery of between 2.4 and 2.6 million iPad 2s in March, according to sources at the Cupertino company’s Far East suppliers. With supplies drying up across the globe throughout last month, it’s safe to say that Apple actually sold most of those to iPad 2-hungry punters.

There’s been a shortage of iPad 2s available ever since the tablet launched. Currently the UK Apple store has a two to three week wait for all versions of the slate. Today’s figures suggest that it’s demand, not lack of supply, that’s meant the wait for the iPad 2 has been so long for some consumers.

What’s more, the same source at Apple’s suppliers claims that Jobs and co will be getting in excess of 4 million iPad 2s in April, as the company looks to satisfy demand and ramp up sales.

Apple is yet to reveal official sales figures for the iPad 2. But with the Motorola Xoom said to be struggling to break the 100,000 mark, it’s clear that the new Apple slate is the best-selling tablet out there. For more on this and the rest of the day’s gadget news,

All New Droid X2 Pictures Emerge

Looks like the guys over at Android Central have secured new pics of the Verizon branded Motorola Droid X2. As to be expected…. not much has changed. We see almost the same exact phone as the X1. But, like my mother always told me, it’s what’s on the inside that counts.

This bad boy is rumored to come packed with an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, Android 2.3 (though pictured with 2.2) and qHD screen. I can tell just by studying the pics that it indeed has the new version of Motoblur and a qHD screen. Yes, my eyes are THAT good.
If Motorola really hopes to to trump the newly released Thunderbolt, they better get some 4G LTE on this monster ASAP.

Apple Removes White iPhone 4 From Its Online Store!

Apple took down the online Apple Store last night to remove the white iPhone 4, according to a 9to5Mac report.

The Apple Store went down at Midnight Eastern time. Since then, our retail contact went into Apple’s system and the only change noticed was the removal of the White iPhone SKU.

The report was corroborated by AppleRumors.it who noted that all graphical references to the white device were removed as well.

Last month Phil Schiller confirmed the white iPhone 4 would be available in Spring; however, this seems to contradict that.

Previously-recorded video can be viewed from any angle, so you've not got any excuse for missing your friend's ace or goal. Over $33,000 has been committed to the project by fans wanting their own GoPano Micro. As there are still 38 days to go in the Kickstarter project, we predict great things from GoPano.
