White iPhone 4 lands at Best Buy on April 27th

Our sources in Europe have already told us that the white iPhone 4 is launching on Wednesday, April 27, in the Netherlands at least, and now other sources are pointing to a launch on that same day in the United States. A source at Best Buy sent us the above inventory screenshot and this screenshot details the April 27th launch date for the product. That particular screenshot is for the AT&T, GSM model of the white iPhone 4, but our connects at Verizon told us there is a CDMA version coming, too. We suppose that the Verizon version is launching that same day in the United States.

Additionally, we have been told that both 16 GB and 32 GB white units have already been shipped to Best Buy locations across the United States, so those models should arrive by Monday or Tuesday ahead of the Wednesday launch. White iPhone 4s have already arrived at phone retailers in the Netherlands and at Vodafone in the UK. Most stores have about ten 16 GB units on order for launch day (screenshot after the break), but there could be more coming, and inventory numbers for the 32 GB units are unconfirmed. If the white iPhone 4 launch in Europe is any indication, there might be a shortage of 32 GB units in the U.S. That is unconfirmed, though. As soon we hear more, you’ll be first to know.

Leaked T-Mobile iPhone has an A5 chip, might be the iPhone 4S

Posted Image

BGR’s T-Mobile iPhone prototype leak from earlier today is not simply an iPhone 4 packed with guts that support the T-Mobile 3G network radios, but it also carries the A5 processor from the next-generation iPhone.

The ‘N94′ prototype build (above) is the exact iPhone build that we found carries an A5 or ‘S5L8940′ processor a few months ago.

…and the iPhone 5 (N94AP), has the same S5L8940 processor as the iPad.

That makes last week’s story pretty convenient…

Remember that ‘iPhone 4S’ we told you about? That’s the prototype iPhone with an A5 processor that game developers are using to prepare their iPhone 5 apps. That sounds a lot like this phone.

The only question now is if that is a prototype ’4S’ or ’5′.

Playbox’s Bang Bang Racing Coming To Android Device Near You [Video]

Bang Bang Racing looks like a super-awesome (and tiny) way to burn up the track, thanks to the dynamic environments and sharp graphics. It utilizes NVIDIA’s PhysX technology to provide such a rich experience – just take a look:

The game will be available in the Market to Tegra-powered devices and showcased in NVIDIA’ Tegra Zone sapp. There is no word on the release date just yet, but it should be "coming soon."
Liverpool, England, 18th, April 2011 – Playbox today announced its expansion into the Android market with a new team focused on developing games for NVIDIA® TegraTM-powered super phones and tablets. The company also announced a Tegra-optimized version of their PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 hit title, Bang Bang Racing, under license from Digital Reality.
Since being founded in 2005, Liverpool-based Playbox has been focused on producing traditional console and handheld titles. Most recently it finished development of Bang Bang Racing for Digital Reality. Now Playbox is bringing its expertise and creativity to the Android space, focusing on games for Tegra-powered devices, such as Bang Bang Racing.
Bang Bang Racing is a fun, action-packed racing game that has cool visuals and pumped-up sports cars. But underneath its playful exterior, Bang Bang Racing has the pumping heart of a true racing game. The Tegra-optimized version offers a home console racing experience designed and optimized for Tegra-powered devices, and utilizes NVIDIA PhysX technology. Real-time dynamic physics allow for finesse and control – drifting through corners and clipping every apex delivers huge player satisfaction. The game also features a unique control system allowing consumers to simply point where they want the car to go, as if they’re drawing a racing line for the car to follow.
Bang Bang Racing will soon be available on Tegra Zone, a free app on the Android Market that provides a one-stop destination for the richest games for Tegra-powered super phones or tablets.
Gary Nichols, Managing Director of Playbox, commented, “Having seen the huge surge in Android devices, and after our early talks with NVIDIA about Tegra, we knew this was a market about to explode. As a result, we realigned our studio to be one of the first companies to go to market with a Tegra-powered game title. Recent announcements from the likes of LG, Motorola and Samsung indicate that the tablet market is only going to keep growing, and it’s important for us to be one of the early adopters.”
Mike Clarke, Technical Director of Playbox, added, “When we first started working on our technology, not many companies really understood what Tegra is or how it will change the market. But at my recent mobile gaming session at the Game Developers’ Conference (GDC), I was amazed at the interest that Tegra received, and it’s clear more developers are looking into Android and Tegra.”
Ashu Rege, Vice President of Content and Technology at NVIDIA, added: “Our top priority is bringing the best console-quality games and content to Android devices. Playbox brings a wealth of creativity and experience to game development, and they’ve brought a PlayStation 3-quality title to Tegra-powered super phones and tablets in record time.”
Playbox is currently working on a number of exciting new titles for Tegra and is actively looking for new partners to work with to develop new IP and to bring existing IP to the Tegra platform.

HTC Flyer preorders start Monday at Best Buy

HTC Flyer fans, you’re wait is nearly over. As we reported here, Best Buy is now making it official with preorder details and pricing. Beginning on Monday, April 25, 2011, you will be able to pre-order the WiFi version of the Android Tablet for $499 through the Best Buy website. One thing though, the Flyer will not come with Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), but has Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) preloaded instead, with HTC Sense. Google hasn’t made Honeycomb available just yet to HTC. And it may not, since we reported last month that Google is requiring separate license for the Honeycomb OS and is blocking updates from all Android 2.x tablets.

It’s unclear if Google just isn’t ready to release the OS to HTC or if licensing issues will prevent it. But that would be a blow to what has been a very hyped up tablet which users are waiting to get their hands on. In the same article mentioned above, however, it says that only certain models of the HTC Flyer will be prevented from getting a Honeycomb update. So it may prove wise to wait on ordering until the situation clears itself up.
The HTC Flyer is a unique design which goes back to using a Stylus thanks to it’s Scribe technology. It’s power by a single core 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor, and a 7-inch screen with 1024 x 600 resolution. It can store plenty of data on it’s 16GB of internal storage, which can be boosted thanks to it’s microSD card slot. The Flyer will be in stores by May 9th.
