iPad 2 Jailbreak via Geohot or Greenpois0n Soon!

The challenge is so strong that he make Geohot back to jailbreak scene. For who don't know, George Hotz (aka Geohot) is a very talented Hacker, Geohot is also the hacker behind Limera1n and Blackra1n jailbreaks, he also was able to jailbreak PlayStation 3. Now a challenge is being held between p0sixninja -the hacker behind Greenpois0n- to dump iPad 2 (A5) bootrom.

So far, threre's no jailbreak available for iPad 2, but hackers are working hard to handle this. Comex -the hacker behin JailbreakMe- is working now on iPad 2 jailbreak via userland exploit.
What is difference between Bootrom and Userland exploits ?

Bootrom exploit is difficult to discover and develop than userland exploit, as Bootrom exploit is hardware-based exploit so that it can be fixed only with hardware upgrade which means that it will also work with upcoming iPhone 5, so we can conclude that bootrom exploit has long lifetime. Userland exploit is a software-based exploit so it's not time consuming compared with bootrom exploit but, its weakness that it can be easly patched on firmware upgrade.

There's no estimate to arrival for iPad 2 jailbreak so far, but iPad 2 users should be optimistic as we will have more than solution for jailbreaking the lovely iPad 2.

How to Fix Installous 4.4.1 Invalid IPA: Installation Failed Error on iOS 4.3.2?

Here is a quick tip for those who are getting Invalid IPA: Installation Failed error while installing cracked apps from Installous 4.4.1. To fix this error, all you need is to uninstall previous installations of AppSync and then re-install AppSync from Hackulous repo. To check if you have installed AppSync from a repo other than Hackulous, just follow this simple guide.

Installous Invalid IPA (Installation Failed)
Note: I am assuming that you have already installed Installous 4.4.1 on your iDevice which is running iOS 4.x.x. If you haven't installed Installous 4.4.1 yet, follow our step-by-step guide here.
  1. Open Cydia on your jailbroken iDevice and tap on the Search tab at the bottom. Type AppSync in the search field and hit ths Search button. From the search results, you can see if you have any previous installations of AppSync. Just choose the one infront of which you see the ✓ sign.
  2. Search AppSync in Cydia
  3. Just choose the Remove option and wait while Cydia removes it from your iDevice.
  4. Remove AppSync from Cydia
  5. Once removed, tap on the Manage tab at the bottom followed by a tap on Sources section. You will find a list of stock and other Cydia repos in this section. Scroll down and tap on the Hackulo.us repo. Here you will see different versions of AppSync app. If you are on iOS 4.x.x, choose AppSync for 4.0+ and if you are on iOS 3.x.x, choose AppSync for OS 3.1.
  6. AppSync in Hackulous
  7. As my iPhone 4 is jailbroken on iOS 4.3.2, so i will be choosing AppSync for iOS 4.0+. Tap on the Install button on the top-right to proceed with installation of AppSync on your iDevice.
  8. AppSync for iOS 4.0+
  9. After installing AppSync, do not forget to reboot your iPhone. Open Installous app and try to install any IPA. Hopefully this time you will not get any Invalid IPA file error.

Apple Working On Two iPhone 5 Models According To Apple Source

While we’ve had rumors on top of rumors surrounding the iPhone 5, but ever since the iPad 2 announcement, many of them have been contradictory. Will the next iPhone be a complete redesign of the handset or are we in for a more iterative approach, similar to that of the iPhone 3G/3GS release? What if we’re in for a surprise and both are true?
The iPhoneDownloadBlog claims this could actually be the case, and they have their very own source to back them up.
Reportedly an employee at an Apple parts supplier, the source says Apple is ordering two sets of parts – one cutting edge, one more conservative. Based on the assumption that Apple wouldn’t be mixing the two, the source believes this is proof Apple is looking to bring two versions of the iPhone 5 to market with one being a ‘pro’ version and the other a ‘normal’ one.
We obviously don’t know anything about this source, but the iPhoneDownloadBlog seem convinced of his legitimacy and while we have no reason to not believe them, we’re not entirely convinced the information is 100% accurate. It’s even possible the story of two sets of parts being ordered is true, but perhaps the lower-end parts for for a new iPod touch?
Without having access to the source ourselves it’s hard to really form too much of an opinion, but the idea of a higher spec’ed ‘pro’ version sounds good to us – we like higher specifications and bigger numbers are always a good thing, right!?
