Will iPhone 5 To Sport 12.6 Megapixel Camera / 1080p Video Recording?

OmniVision, known as digital image solution supplier, OnniVision supplied Apple with  iPhone 4 back camera. New sensors called OV12825 has been recently produced by the California-based company, these sensor will be specially for the cameras of upcoming smartphones. And they will enter the production stage around early June, and the sensors will offer 12.6 megapixel resolution along with 1080p video recording on 60fps.

Though, no one has yet placed orders for this futuristic sensor, since Apple has previously been including OmniVision sensors, the windows are open. On the other hand, some early rumors with semi-strong basis suggested that Apple will be ditching OmniVision for Sony for a 8MP sensor.
Since the iPhone 4 offers magnificent image sensor and Apple has previously been working with OmniVision, there’s a great chance that Apple may stick to OmniVision for OV12825. If this goes as hoped, the iPhone 5 will be a dream phone for photographers.

JAILBREAK iPAD 2 – WHAT YOU KNOW about JAILBREAK iPAD 2!

Here are some of hackers tweets:

iPAD 2 DESIGN - 2325

MuscleNerd:
So far, our tests have shown my theory might be right :( (Once the A5 bootrom is off, it stays off until power cycle)

And another from MuscleNerd:
the bootrom is actually inside the A5, so that would require some very advanced decapping and optics

While p0sixninja added today:
Wow, I guess @MuscleNerd was right. BootROM just isn’t there… Guess I gotta go HAM on Apple now.

Bottom line is this is going to take quite a bit of reverse-engineering in order to get it to work. Apple is making it more and more difficult to jailbreak their devices. That said, if anyone reading has some knowledge that can help them out, it may be a good time to lend a hand.

Getting the iPad 2 jailbroken would mean that we are one step closer to jailbreak all the rest of the Apple iDevices coming this year including iPhone 5, iPod touch 5G or any new form of Apple TV they may introduce. We will see what happens, but at least now you know what the holdup is.

Geohot Gives $10,000 in Donations to the EFF

As promised, all left over legal defense money, plus a little to bump it to a nice number, has been sent to the EFF. Thank you all so much for your support, without it, things could have been much worse.

This money goes to the EFF in hopes that America can one day again be a shining example of freedom, free of the DMCA and ACTA, and that private interest will never trump the ideas laid out in the constitution of privacy, ownership, and free speech.

At the end of the day, something I take comfort in. The PS3 got OWNED.
"Once the code works they'll never be able to take it away from us."

Will you be continuing your work on Sony products anonymously?
Nah. As much as I don't respect the goons at Sony, I do respect the court.

Will future research on Sony products be chilled?
Nah. If you piss them off enough for them to pull out the legal team and their million dollar checkbook, worst thing that happens is you have to super swear to never do it again.

Will Sony do a better job with security next time?
LOL, I think they'll do a lot worse. It wouldn't surprise me if the people who did PS3 security were fired. And I'm curious as to who Sony is hiring for NGP security. Lawyers? Get the code to sign a contract that it won't have exploits? You shouldn't piss off the community of people who are actually talented at this stuff. Hell, maybe you even pissed off your engineering employees enough to leave some nice backdoors?

This iPhone App Can Takes a 3D Scan of Your Face

The new update to Trimensional for iPhone let’s you take a 3D scan of your face which you may later use for 3D prints.
Though the app is a 3D scanner it’s not supposed to work with all-things-3D, instead it’s going to work just right with the faces only. Don’t try your weird fantasies with it, not now at least.
You may also end up creating rotating GIFs of 3D models and share with your friends. While the app comes only for a dollar, you can send the 3D scans directly to your 3D printer just by spending 5 more bucks (of course if you own a 3D printer). This is probably one of the most awesome iPhone apps I have ever come across which is why I bought it as I’m writing this.

Logitech Make iPad 2 become a Laptop!

Apple always make things simple and easy, at the same time it's a chance to let accessories makers to  make iDevices complicated, like Logitech, if you think you can’t stand the iPad’s virtual keyboard? Well, you could lug around both your iPad and a Bluetooth keyboard, or you could just pony up for the Logitech iPad Keyboard Case ($100). Combining a screen cover with a built-in stand and Bluetooth keyboard, this case will keep your iPad 2′s front glass from becoming a scratched-up wreck, while offering support while you type away on a real-life physical keyboard.

Note: the theme of the image used in SBSettings is iRetina +
