White iPhone 4 demoing New Multitasking, Spotlight Search in upcoming iOS?

Before you begin a relentless obsession with the White iPhone 4 you’ll want to check this out! Tinhte have posted a video of White iPhone4 running “test version” of iOS which is unavailable publicly.
Multitasking in White iPhone 4
The multitasking menu showed here substitutes the current use of apps’ icons to represent them with a visual of each app’s open window. You can tap on a window to expand it (replete with animation) to fill the screen or long-press on it to bring up the familiar “x” button for shutting it down. This is all accompanied by a new “Search iPhone” dialog at the very top, which sends you into Spotlight search that looks very much the way it currently does (though it seems to no longer be accessible with a left swipe from the first homescreen as on previous versions of iOS).

6 BEST TABLETS and 6 BEST iPAD’s KILLS

The Apple iPad has re-energized the market for tablet computers but it has gone nearly all of 2010 without a serious challenger. That will soon change. Here are 6 upstarts taking aim at the iPad.

Samsung Galaxy Tab
Based on a similar design to the Samsung Galaxy S smartphones, this 7-inch Android 2.2 tablet is loaded with strong specs and will be available on multiple carriers. It will likely be the iPad’s most serious competitor to arrive before the end of 2010.

Cisco Cius
Primarily an enterprise communications and collaboration device, the Cisco Cius is an 7-inch Android tablet with a heavy layer of Cisco customization on top. Consumers won’t be interested, but existing Cisco customers who want a corporate-controlled tablet might be.

BlackBerry PlayBook
Aimed at stopping the iPad’s momentum with executives and business professionals, the 7-inch BlackBerry tablet will be built on its own QNX operating system and is flush with power with a 1 GHz dual core CPU and 1 GB of RAM. However, battery life may be an issue and it won’t arrive until 2011.

Toshiba Libretto
One of the more innovative tablet competitors is the Libretto with its dual 7-inch multi-touch screens. One screen can be used entirely as a virtual keyboard while you work on the other. It runs Windows 7 acts a little more like a netbook than a tablet but it’s an interesting concept.

ASUS Eee Pad
Now one of the world’s top five computer makers and one of the leaders in design, ASUS has talked throughout the year about launching various iPad competitors (branded “Eee Pad”) from 9-inch to 12-inch models, running Windows 7, Windows Embedded Compact, or Android. ASUS has promised a tablet will be coming in the first quarter of 2011.

Lenovo U1 Hybrid
One of the big hits of CES 2010, the IdeaPad U1 Hybrid is a convertible tablet with a multi-touch screen that detaches from a hardware keyboard. The main system runs Windows 7 but the detachable 11.6-inch screen turns into a standalone tablet running Linux. It has been delayed until 2011, but Lenovo says the standalone tablet will be released separately as the Lenovo LePad in December.

APPLE IPHONE 4,3GS vs SAMSUNG GALAXY

In the latest intellectual property suit to hit the smartphone industry, Apple is suing Samsung, alleging the Galaxy line of phones and tablets infringe on a number of the company’s patents and trademarks.

iphone_vs_galaxy

The suit, filed on Friday in U.S. District Court in Northern California, alleges patent and trademark infringement, as well as unfair competition. Apple is seeking injunctions, actual damages and punitive damages, as well as a finding that the alleged infringement was willful.

“It’s no coincidence that Samsung’s latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging,” an Apple representative told Mobilized. “This kind of blatant copying is wrong, and we need to protect Apple’s intellectual property when companies steal our ideas.”

Samsung said it would fight Apple’s legal action in the courts.

“Samsung’s development of core technologies and strengthening our intellectual property portfolio are keys to our continued success,” the company said in a statement. “Samsung will respond actively to this legal action taken against us through appropriate legal measures to protect our intellectual property.”

The smartphone industry is filled with patent actions, including an ongoing battle between Apple and Nokia, suits between Microsoft and Motorola, as well as a suit by Oracle against Google, to name but a few. This one is particularly interesting because Samsung is a prominent supplier for a number of Apple products.

Apple’s lengthy court filing, seen by Mobilized, is filled with what Apple claims are examples of the copy-catting, ranging from core technology to screen icons to hardware shape. In particular, Apple cites patents issued in 2009 and 2010 that cover the physical design of the iPhone along with various trademarks for its app icons.

In addition to the patent and trademark claims, Apple also alleges infringement of the “trade dress” of the iPhone and iPad, a legal term meaning they sure look a whole lot alike. Apple charges that everything from the icons on the Galaxy screen to the way the phone is packaged infringe on Apple’s designs.

“Samsung’s Galaxy Tab computer tablet also slavishly copies a combination of several elements of the Apple Product Configuration Trade Dress,” Apple says in its suit, noting that Samsung’s tablet, like Apple’s, uses a similar rectangular design with rounded corners, similar black border and array of icons.

Even as Apple is filing its latest claims, the company suffered a setback in earlier cases it has pending against HTC and Nokia with the U.S. International Trade Commission. According to Bloomberg, ITC staff has recommended siding against Apple in those cases, which also involve phone patents.

Apple’s suit against Samsung not only contains lots of harsh words, but also has lots of pretty pictures, including some that show side-by-side shots of Samsung’s products stacked up against Apple’s patent diagrams and against Apple’s products themselves.

In one head-to-head comparison, Apple shows the iPhone 3GS next to the original Galaxy i9000 model sold in South Korea last year.

At this stage you will be presented with a screen where you will be guided on how to enter DFU mode. Quickly hold “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.

Samsung currently working on a 2GHz Dual – Core Processor for upcoming Smartphones

PC’s & SmartPhones are getting faster day by day and what’s great is that their price always remains almost the same. Repeatedly release of 1Ghz smartphone made the people bored…. but Samsung cared about the world and started to work on a 2GHz Processor and promised to release it by the coming year. If you calculate the processors in a technical way, the processor is going to have 2GHz for each core while current 1GHz is multiplied into two cores. Currently we guys are handling the speed of 1GHz by ARM which has a dual core Cortex A9 and the upcoming release for this is the Samsung Galaxy S2.

This news was published in “ Maeli Business Newspaper “. After reading this many question’s will arise in your mind, but one question is going to be tough ?? Will this release be limited to their own corporation and the Answer is No because according to business rules your competitor should be at your level

How To Unlock iOS 4.3.2 On iPhone 4 / 3GS With Ultrasn0w Fixer for 4.3.2 (Complete Guide)

Just like iOS 4.3 and iOS 4.3.1 ultrasn0w is also broken on latest released iOS 4.3.2 firmware and need a fix to work on iOS 4.3.2, so today an iPhone developer DjayB6 has kicked out the new version of “Ultrasn0w fixer for iOS 4.3.2” to make ultrasn0w 1.2.1 compatible on latest firmware to do iPhone 4 and 3GS baseband unlock.

So here is a guide how to patch ultrasn0w 1.2.1 to make it compatible on for unlock of basebands on iOS 4.3.2:
Step 1: First of all you have to jailbreak your iPhone 4 or 3GS on the latest iOS 4.3.2 firmware. The currently status of jailbreak on iOS 4.3.2 is limited to tethered boot only.
Note: Don’t use Redsn0w to jailbreak iOS 4.3.2, it will update your baseband and you will never unlock your iPhone
Step 2: After Jailbreaking of your device,  now you can unlock your iPhone basebands using Ultrasn0w Fixer for 4.3.2 on latest iOS 4.3.2 firmware:
  • Launch “Cydia” on your iPhone.
  • Now tap on “Manage” tab on the bottom.
  • Now tap on “Sources” button to add source of ultrasn0w fixer
Step 3: Now for adding source of Ultrasn0w fixer, tap on “Edit” and then on “Add”, you should be prompted to add a URL of source, for more check out the below mentioned screenshot:
Type ” http://djayb6.com ” as a source URL and then tap on “Add Source” button to add this repo on your Cydia.

Wait for a while, Cydia will automatically update your sources by following a series of automated steps.
Step 4: After installation of repo in cydia, do a search for “Ultrasn0w fixer for 4.3.2” in cydia and install it. This will automatically unlock your iPhone baseband, so that you can use any type of carrier on your iPhone.

Now just restart your iPhone, and you should be on unlocked iPhone 4 and 3 running latest iOS 4.3.2 firmware

iPhone 3G running slow after iOS 4? Speed up your slow iPhone 3G with these tips

If your iPhone 3G is running really slow after installing iOS 4, you’re not alone. While iOS 4 is a great OS for newer iPhone models, it makes my older iPhone 3G slow down to a crawl, with everything delayed and stuttering to catch up to touch. At times it’s practically unusable. So what can you do to speed it up?
Update: The first thing you should do is grab the iOS 4.1 download since it resolves some of the speed problems. After you install iOS 4.1, combine the update with the following tips to regain your iPhone 3G speed:
speed up iphone 3g with ios 4

Disable Spotlight on iPhone 3G

If iOS 4 has your iPhone 3G crawling, disable Spotlight search:
  • Tap on “Settings”
  • Tap on “General”
  • Navigate to and select “Home Button”
  • Scroll down to “Spotlight Search”
  • Disable everything by tapping the check box next to each item
  • Exit settings
You can leave some of the Spotlight search items enabled but I find that the best speed improvement comes from disabling everything.
I don’t even use Spotlight on my iPhone so I’m not missing this feature at all, but it does seem to improve the speed of the iPhone 3G in common tasks like flipping between screens, scrolling through text messages and emails, and even launching some apps.
Bottom line: if you don’t use Spotlight in iOS, disable it!

Hard reset iPhone 3G

Hard resetting your iPhone can speed it up for a while. Here’s how to do it:
  • Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time, hold both for about 5 seconds
  • Ignore the typical ‘Slide to power off message’ and continue holding both buttons until the iPhone shuts itself off
  • When your iPhone 3G resets itself you can stop holding the buttons, it takes about 10 seconds to hard reset the iPhone
  • Let iOS boot as usual, your phone should be temporarily sped up
This works because it clears your iPhone’s memory completely, but this is less of a permanent solution than disabling Spotlight since caches and memory will inevitably be full again.

Restore factory settings and do not restore from backup

I don’t like this solution much because you lose your backups, but it does seem to help iOS 4 run a bit better on the iPhone 3G. Basically you’re just doing a clean iOS 4 install on the iPhone, but then you are left with an empty phone. You can obviously easily resync your music but you’ll lose all your iPhone text message backups, contacts, apps, and pretty much anything else that made it your phone.

Downgrade from iOS 4 to iOS 3.1.3

If you’re totally fed up with iPhone 3G and iOS 4, you can always just downgrade to the prior OS version, but it’s not a particularly fun process and you obviously lose out on all the iOS 4 features.

Thoughts on iPhone 3G and iOS 4

I know I would have been annoyed if Apple had left out the iPhone 3G from being able to upgrade to iOS 4, but I feel like the performance is just terrible. It’s no wonder they left out multitasking and background pictures, but even without those features it just doesn’t run well on the older and slower hardware of the 3G. There are some rumors (ie: wishful thinking) swirling that when iOS 4 for iPad is released and the iOS 4 versions are bridged in iOS 4.1 (or whatever the version ends up being), that the performance will improve on iPhone 3G. I’m not counting on that and here’s why: the iOS 4.1 beta is already available for download and people have put it on their iPhone 3G to practically no avail. Perhaps future versions will change and we just don’t know that yet, but for now I am not a fan of iOS4 my older iPhone 3G.
Update: the final release of iOS 4.1 make the iPhone 3G run a lot better than iOS 4, but iPhone OS 3.1.3 is still faster. It’s up to you whether or not the iOS 4 features are worth the performance hit.
Oh, and if you have an iPhone 3G, do yourself a favor and do not upgrade to iOS 4! Folders and editing playlists are not worth the huge slowdown

Untethered iOS 4.3.2 Jailbreak Redsn0w by Dev Team

the iPhone Dev Team has once again updated redsn0w for this jailbreak. They couldn’t have done it without i0n1c’s untether. Here’s what they said from their blog below:
Only a few weeks after the 4.3.1 untether created by @i0n1c was released, Apple pushed out firmware 4.3.2. Thankfully, it appears Apple didn’t have a chance to fix the hole used by @i0n1c’s untether, so he ported his code over to 4.3.2’s kernel. Today’s redsn0w has been updated to include it.
The 4.3.2 untether works on all devices that actually support 4.3.2 except for the iPad2:

  • iPhone3GS
  • iPhone4 (GSM)
  • iPod touch 3G
  • iPod touch 4G
  • iPad1

redsn0w 0.9.6rc13:

As always, ultrasn0w unlockers should stay away from redsn0w and only update their firmware through a custom IPSW. We’ll release a new version of PwnageTool sometime this week.

Note that many people are currently having problems updating to 4.3.2 through saurik’s server. You’ll need to remove the gs.apple.com entry in your hosts file in order to restore directly to Apple’s servers.
