How to update iPhone and Prevent iPhone Baseband Update!

You can protect your iPhone 4 BB restoring to iOS 4.2.1. Follow these steps exactly:
  1. Get the latest TinyUmbrella.
  2. Get the latest greenpois0n rc5 update (http://greenpois0n.com) or here
  3. Open TinyUmbrella
  4. Plug in your device and save SHSH (make sure 4.2.1 SHSH were saved, if not don't bother continuing)
  5. Start TSS Server (If you get errors read the help section or FAQs or comment below typically it fails because you have some kind of web sharing enabled... use google to fix it - your issue really not much I can do...)
  6. Open iTunes
  7. Select your device in iTunes
  8. Shift(windows) / Option(Mac) restore -> Select the 4.2.1 ipsw
  9. Restore SHOULD error with a 1013 error. Click the "ok's" and close iTunes.
  10. With your device sitting with the usb pointing to iTunes (recovery mode), enter DFU by pressing and holding HOME + POWER until your screen goes black... then after a count of 2 (1.5-2 seconds) let go of POWER but keep holding HOME. If all goes well you will see nothing but a black screen. If your timing is even a LITTLE bit off, you will see the apple logo and your phone will boot back into recovery mode... Go back to step 10 and try again.
  11. You're now in DFU mode. Start greenpois0n and press 'Jailbreak'
  12. Once greenpois0n has finished its thing. Press 'Complete!'
  13. Let your device restart. You should end up on the activation screen.
  14. Congrats your baseband was preserved and you are now on 4.2.1
  15. Put your device into DFU mode and then click 'Fix Recovery'
  16. Click 'Yes'
  17. Your device's screen will turn white and you'll see debug boot information.
  18. Eventually your device will boot into the activation screen.
  19. Congrats. You're on 4.2.1 (again)? :)
If you get a 16XX error then try entering DFU and go to step 5.
If your restore does NOT end in a 1013, it means your baseband was updated. This is likely because you did not have the TSS server running OR you updated without TinyUmbrella OR you are working with a device OTHER than iPhone 4.

Google Betters Android Security, Management for Honeycomb Tablets

Google upgraded its security and device management programs for Android smartphones and tablets at a time when more workers are using devices based on the open source platform.

Google moved to fortify security and management for Android smartphones and tablets used in businesses, with three new software updates designed to improve productivity for workers using Google Apps for Business and Google Apps for Education.
While Research in Motion Blackberry smartphones have dominated the enterprise for the last decade, more businesses are allowing employees to bring their personal Android and iPhone devices into the workplace.
This has forced IT administrators to adapt to workers' device preferences and figure out ways to manage them. Good Technology, Sybase, Mobile Iron and Zenprise are all offering solutions to help these businesses, but Google offer its own management apps for Google Apps collaboration software.
Google April 7 launched a new version of the Google Apps Device Policy app will let employees secure a lost or stolen Android device.
The app will locate an Android smartphone on a map, ring the device, and reset the device PIN or password remotely through the new My Devices website.
The app runs on Android 2.2 and later devices. EWEEK downloaded it directly to a Motorola Droid X in seconds via Google's Android Market Webstore here.
Second, Google issued a new corporate contacts application called Google Apps Lookup that makes it easier for employees to contact people in their business.
Users will type or speak the name or e-mail address of a coworker, and then tap to call, e-mail, instant message or send a text message. Because Lookup pulls information from the Google Apps directory, admins need to enable the "Shared Contacts" option in the control panel for workers to use this.
Screenshots of how this works are available here for this app, which works for Android 2.1 and later devices.
Google also offers a new perk to help Google Apps administrators manage Android 3.0 "Honeycomb" tablets.
Admins can now use an option in their Apps control panel to encrypt data on device, which will include requiring encrypted storage on Android 3.0 tablets. Honeycomb slates will need version 2.0 of the Google Apps Device Policy app to make this work.
The new Android enterprise perks come more than 5 months after the last batch of upgrades for business devices. Google Oct. 28 added enterprise management and sync support for Google Apps on its Android 2.2 mobile platform.
That upgrade let Apps admins remotely wipe all data from lost or stolen mobile devices; lock idle devices after a period of inactivity; require a device password on each phone; set minimum lengths to boost password security; and require alphanumeric passwords.

Enable Multitouch Gestures On iOS 4.3.1 The Easy Way! [Jailbreak Tweak]

Back when iOS 4.3 was in its beta days, all the fuss was about its fancy new multitouch gestures for switching between apps as well as returning to the home screen on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

That feature never found its way into the final release unless you use Xcode and turn your iDevice into developer hardware. Now though, that’s not strictly true.

A new tweak is now available on jailbreak store Cydia that will enable the aforementioned multitouch gestures with the tap of a button.

You will, of course, need to have a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch to install it. Follow our step by step guide posted here to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with Redsn0w on iOS 4.3.1, or with PwnageTool 4.3, or with Sn0wbreeze on Windows if you haven’t already.

Simply download MT Gestures via ModMyi repo and activate it inside WinterBoard. Job done.

After a swift respiring, you’ll have access to some handy dandy new gestures:
Close fingers to get back to Homescreen (with four or five fingers);

Scroll up or down to show/hide multitasking tray (with four or five fingers);

Scroll left or right to switch between apps (with four or five fingers).
There’s only one hiccup – currently the tweak only works with iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G. Support for iPad is on the way.
