Three People Sent to Prison in China Over iPad 2 Leaks

Wall Street Journal reports that three guys have been sent to prison as they have facilitated in leaking information about iPad 2 prior to its release.

The court announced the decision Tuesday in statements on its official account at Sina Weibo, a Twitter-like microblogging service in China. It said that Xiao Chengsong, general manager of Shenzhen MacTop Electronics Co., had offered 20,000 yuan, or about $3,000, plus discounts on MacTop products to a former Hon Hai employee named Hou Pengna, for information about the iPad 2. The court said Ms. Hou then paid Lin Kecheng, a Hon Hai research-and-development employee, to get digital images of the device's back cover from last September, six months before the iPad 2 was publicly announced.

They will spend from 12 to 18 months in prison and are subject to fines ranging from $4,500 to $23,000.

2. boot in to tethered mode
3. open ifunbox
4. go to rawfile system and open applications folder
5. delete setup.app
6. reboot and you will se that the connect to itunes window will quickly flash and after that you will be getting to your springboard

2. boot into tethered mode
3.download iphone explorer or ifunbox
4. open up /system/library/coreservices/systemversion.plist
5. delete the beta entry and the one above
6. go through the setup process

Jailbreak iOS 5 on Windows with sn0wbreeze

sn0wbreeze has been updated (2.8 Beta 1) to support iOS 5 (GSM and CDMA). Recently, MuscleNerd stated that a beta version of redsn0w was available for users and developers to test out applications/tweaks in the iOS 5 environment. One of the main limitations though is that the redsn0w beta is only available for the Mac OS.

Although MuscleNerd said a Windows client was in the process, another prominent developer stepped up to the plate and completed the task. iH8sn0w (@iH8sn0w) pushed out a sn0wbreeze 2.8 Beta 1 release today to ensure that those on Windows could test iOS 5 on a jailbroken device (GSM and CDMA). It is available for all devices except the iPad 2.

This is a huge plus for Windows users and developers/hackers that don't use the Mac OS. iH8snow mentioned to me on Skype that he will continue to release versions of sn0wbreeze for every iOS 5 beta release (Beta 2 - x). On top of this, at the release of iOS 5, sn0wbreeze will be updated to 3.0 and will support all respective devices except the iPad 2.
